Explanation of evidence: The task cards were used by each of the different reading rotations, which had been streamed based on diagnostic testing at the start of each term. Each group had differentiated explicit instruction, while the actual text was the same for all students, the tasks were differentiated based on the needs of the particular group. Out of the 4 groups, three of them were working independently while one group would work in a guided group with me where I was taking anecdotal notes. My mentor teacher used this structure for Reading lessons and the students had always responded well to the individual work.
